This is actually really important because you probably never really thought about setting any goals. However, if you want to succeed a lot faster and drastically increase the chances of getting the muscle you want then you need specific goals.
When setting goals, you probably think more of setting outcome goals more than anything. Things like putting 20 pounds of muscle on or adding three inches to your arm measurements are typical goals. You actually want to set these still but you don’t want to really concentrate on them.
The problem with these goals is the fact they are hard to control. You don’t know what you’re body is really capable of what other circumstances can affect your results. But you can control other goals.
The best goals are performance goals. Some good examples of these goals are two workout three days a week on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday at 12:30 in the afternoon. Setting a weekly time to take measurements or eliminating alcohol from your diet.
These types of goals are things that will lead you to your outcomes, but they are also things you have complete control over.
What is really great about setting and sticking to goals like this how they are begin to form habits. Habits and rituals are the strongest things you can do in your life because they control what you become.
When you take control of habitual goals like these, it will only be a matter of time before you hit your outcome goals.
